KDG Construction Consulting is seeking an Office Engineer to support our project management team in a high-priority, active operating environment. This role is responsible for assisting the Project Manager with managing the scope, schedule, and operational interfaces of all design and construction-related activities for complex wayfinding programs. The Office Engineer provides a broad spectrum of technical and administrative duties primarily associated with submittal and Request for Information (RFI) management, as well as construction management support. This position plays a key role in maintaining a clear flow of information between design teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
Position Summary:
The Office Engineer is responsible for managing the technical and administrative documentation associated with the project lifecycle. This role requires a professional with a technical/construction background who is experienced in the project design life cycle—from Concept to Project Definition Book to Permit to Bulletins—and the construction life cycle, including pre-construction, estimating/buyout, phasing, implementation, and closeout. The Office Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the project management team by ensuring all project records are accurate, compliant, and distributed in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
Document Control & RFI Management:
• Manage and maintain all project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and daily reports.
• Prepare, process, and follow up on Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring prompt communication of responses to all relevant parties.
• Update and maintain RFI and submittal logs in PMWeb, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Track, log, and monitor contractor submittals to ensure timely review and distribution to design teams and project stakeholders.
• Maintain organized hard-copy and electronic project files; oversee document and submittal management systems.
Project & Design Support:
• Distribute documents, submittals, and RFIs for review; track review comments, compile responses, obtain management approval, and issue formal responses to contractors.
• Work with contractors to ensure drawings and project documents are posted and updated in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with contractors, design teams, inspectors, and project managers to support clear and consistent information flow.
• Manipulate various electronic file formats to create exhibits, graphics, and supporting materials for meetings and presentations.
Administrative & Field Coordination:
• Support field operations by coordinating with field engineers and superintendents to maintain alignment between project documentation and field activities.
• Assist in preparing construction meeting agendas, presentations, and action item logs.
• Perform additional project support duties, including attending and documenting project meetings, writing agendas and minutes, expediting processes, and maintaining expediting logs.
• Ensure proper filing, organization, and archiving of all project records in accordance with established project standards.
Qualifications
Required:
• 5+ years of experience in construction or engineering, preferably within an airport or similar active, large-scale operating environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Technical/Construction background with knowledge of design and construction contracting practices and methodologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
• Experience with Project Management Implementation Systems; ability to work in PMWeb preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
Preferred:
• Professional certifications such as AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP, or any other relevant professional license.
• Specific knowledge and experience in the project design life cycle (Concept to Bulletins) and the construction life cycle (Pre-Con to Closeout).

Anticipated Salary Range: $85,000.00 – $94,000.00 per year
